WIW-Mother's Day, time to donate?

Hi! This is what I wore for a casual mother's day with family. I actually posted the same top combination a year ago, lol. http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ery-casual For some reason I like this shade of blue and green together.

I am wondering if it is time to donate the capris. They are actually way too long in the rise and I have to fold them over three times at the waist to make the rise fit which then makes it very bulky around my waist. Not to mention as short as I am I know how stumpifying capris are on me.

The top is also not the most complementary but it is so soft and I love it for some reason. So flattering doesn't always win in my book, sometimes comfort trumps flattering.

I love the embroidery detail at the hem of these pants. Having to roll them over 3 times at the waist (or even once!) would not go over well with me. I don't know if that's something that can be altered since they're otherwise so cute, or if they'll just never fit you properly. I vote for perfect (or near perfect) fit!

While I like the embroidery detail at the bottom of the pants, having to fold them over 3x at the waist would send them to the donate pile for me. Plus they look a little big all over, I think a smaller size would work better. The color of your top is gorgeous, it looks perfect with your hair and complexion. And I love those sunnies!

I agree -- any pants that have to be folded over three times at the waist do not fit and need to go!

  • cheryl replied 9 years ago

Carter, I like the embroidery too but they are definitely no where near a perfect fit. :)

Thank you Karie! Yes they are a bit big all over. I have lost some weight and am having that issue with a lot of my pants. :)

You are right MaryK and as soon as they are out of the wash they will be in the donate bag. :)

You're already sorted, but I agree that 3x folding is too much to bother keeping.

    Thank you Alasse! :)

Onto the next pair of cropped pants, Cheryl. You'd look delightful in khakis that are rolled at the hem. Hope you had a fab Mother's Day. xo

Thank you Angie! I sure did. :) xoxo

You look fab, but I think it is time to donate the capris only because 3 rolls means they don't fit!  Hope you had a spectacular day.

    Thank you Thistle :)

You look very nice I like the shoes and the sunglasses you look cool.

Good idea to donate. Your hair colour looks nice & I like the blue on you.

  • cheryl replied 9 years ago

Thanks so much ladywone and jackiec :)

    Beautiful hair colour :-D

I love how this shade of blue suits you. The pants are in donation pile as I can tell, which is excellent news - pretty embroidery or not, any piece of wardrobe that requires constant maintenance or propping in order to be worn should not live in anyone's wardrobe.

Shame about the capris, 'cos I do like the hem detail, but on to the next eh? Lovely coloured top next to your rich hair colour.

  • cheryl replied 9 years ago

Thank you Ornella and Diane G :) Hopefully I can find some better fitting capris.

You look great in blues! I agree, though, time to update the pants both for fit and more modern style. Moving on is good !

  • Zibbets replied 9 years ago

Congrats on your weight loss! I think it's time to celebrate with some pants that fit your new figure!

Thank you unfrumped and Zibbets! I am trying to get better at letting go of things that are just mediocre.
