WIW - White Suit

I think i'm feeling patriotic a day too late, lol. I never wear shirts this short, they make me feel uncomfortable. I like to wear tops that cover my bottom because I have a tummy and big hips. So this is normally hidden under a jacket of some sort. What do you think of this length. Is it fine, is it to be kept underneath something or is it time to let it go? The white suit! It is five years old. What do you think? Is it too Saturday Night Fever? Dated? Or is it still fine with the 3/4 sleeves and mandarin collar. Of course I casualize (is that a word?) everything with fun plaid tennies, lol. Sandals would probably look better but for work my feet get too cold in sandals. Bonus pics of my granddoggy Katie!

I think it is still fine and my only suggestion would be too narrow the bottoms of the pants a bit. I actually like the proportions with the non-bum covering top. Cute summer look.

Thank you dianthus. They do flare out a bit at the bottom.

That jacket is fantastic on you Cheryl. I agree with Dianthus' suggestion about narrowing the capris a bit, but the proportions and combo are fabulous!

    Thank you Shannon!

I agree with the other ladies and would add that you also have a lovely looking dog...and peonies!!

Why not mix it up? Wear the jacket with denim, colored denim or khaki bottoms. I also prefer the jacket worn open.

You look great in white. The jacket is amazing, the blouse is the right length.
I would also do something to the clams, maybe shorten them a bit?

  • teeandcee replied 11 years ago

I agree on the bottoms but otherwise think you look great! That shorter top is quite slimming on you in my opinion. And I like the pattern mixing of the striped tee and plaid shoes.

I don't think the jacket is at all outdated, looks great on you, and think it'd also look great with a skirt or bottoms in a bright/contrasting color. Maybe bright yellow or orange?? Maybe the red in your shoes? Or even denim.

And adorable dogger. :D I love animals.

I think the top looks great on you! You also have a lovely smile :-)

I very much like the jacket on you(esp. the chanellesque neckline) and that top with the white capris are also fab! BUT I wouldn't wear them together, rather the white jacket to blue or colored jeans, and the capris alone. I also never ever button up my jackets IRL except if in front of a camera for really formal or business purposes.

Jacket is a winner! Lovely pictures of pretty you with dog in #6 and #7.

I vote shorten and taper the pants to just below the knee to make the suit more current.

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

Thanks so much everyone. I will look into altering the capris. It's funny I have never worn the jacket with anything else but since it gets a thumbs up I will try it out with my jeans, both denim blue and my colored jeans.

Great look, Cheryl. I agree with the others that the capris would look amazing tapered slightly and shortened a tad -- they look fine as is.

The length of the top is really flattering and it's creating a terrific balance between the upper and lower body. Don't feel the need to cover the booty -- we've all got one, and I find tunics sometimes give me a "booty under a blanket" look if they're not just perfect. The fit here looks perfect.

I'm nostalgic for Keds -- so bring on the shoes!

Thanks so much Beth Ann :)

Hi, Katie! You are so cute.

You look great in white, Cheryl. That jacket will look fab with your jeans and sparkly Converse. Like the colours going through your hair :)

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

Katie says, thank you, lol :)

Thank you Angie. I don't wear a lot of white because it's hard for me to keep it looking good. I guess i'm a messy girl.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

That's why we have washing machines :)

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

    LOL! Good point. ;)

  • HelenInCanada replied 11 years ago

The white jacket is FABULOUS on you! Good thing you hung onto it - it's perfect with so many items.

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

Thank you Helen. I'm going to try to be more adventurous with it, lol.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

I'm with the rest of the gang - don't limit that fab jacket to the capris only! It needs to come out with many more of your colorful and summery outfits. :)

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

Thanks Rae, I will give it a go. :)
