My May Clothing Numbers

Here are the numbers for my clothing inventory/spreadsheet for the month of May. I am late getting them done.

31 days in May
144 different items worn a total of
226 times, equals an average of
7.29 pieces a day
4 items in one day was the least amount worn
12 items in one day was the most amount worn
0 items purchased or acquired this month

I am surprised since the weather is normally nicer in May than in April that my average number per day was higher in May than in April. The least and most amount worn were the exact same as April.

April average 6.84
May average 7.29

Maybe there were more temperature flucuations leading to more clothing changes, i'm not sure, lol.

These numbers do include shoes, jammies, loungewear and outerwear/toppers.

    Interesting reflections!

You are so thorough, Cheryl, and you did a brilliant job shopping your closet:-)
    Thanks for sharing this info!

Interesting! I personally notice that in volatile weather months (mostly in the spring, for me) I also wear more items because who knows what the weather will do!?

    Thanks Angie.

Thank you Inge. The SYC has been unintentional but I thankfully I haven't been having a problem with it. I am ready for a new item or two though, lol.

Thats exactly it Aida. I think my number should be less this month with the warmer weather although I still need a jacket or topper of some sort at work because they blast the a/c.

What an interesting look at your wardrobe Cheryl. I've only ever kept track of what I wear to events so as not to repeat them with the same people too often. Your method is so informative, I imagine you will get a much better handle on your wardrobe this way.

Angie, I chuckled out loud - I DO love it! I'm such a numbers geek.
Do you count belts, purses, hats, etc?

  • Sheila replied 9 years ago

Cheryl, this is brilliant. Do you feel you also upped the quality of your overall looks each day, or was it more about getting the most value out of what you own?

Wow, that is some persistence and organization, Cheryl! Well done!

Impressive! Well done and unintentional SYC sounds great! :-)

    Thanks everyone!

Mo, I don't count accessories. I almost never wear belts or hats. I only have a few scarves and they also almost never get worn. I have a lot of bags but don't switch them out often enough.

Sheila, I don't really think it ups the quality. It's more about trying to wear everything as equally as possible, and if I never want to wear something, it helps me to be able to let it go. I have a hard time with that. I keep stuff forever, lol.
